Doha, Qatar: January 28, 2026: Qatar TEC, a leading manpower company in Qatar, recently honoured Captain Deepak Mahajan, a renowned commercial pilot and internationally acclaimed marathon and endurance runner, in recognition of his extraordinary achievements in long-distance running and his inspiring commitment to fitness and discipline.
The
felicitation ceremony, held at the Qatar TEC office, highlighted Captain
Mahajan’s ability to balance a demanding professional career in aviation with
rigorous endurance training. The management praised him for setting an
exceptional example for youth and working professionals. Captain Mahajan has
completed several prestigious marathons and ultra-endurance races across
multiple countries, earning admiration for his perseverance, mental toughness,
and consistency. Notably, he has run marathons on three continents and is now
aiming to complete marathons on all seven continents to enter the Guinness Book
of World Records.
Speaking at the occasion, Jebi K John, Managing Director of Qatar TEC,
said: “Honouring achievers like Captain Mahajan aligns with our vision to
promote healthy lifestyles, personal excellence, and community inspiration. He
proves that discipline and determination can lead to success both
professionally and personally. Such role models truly deserve to be
celebrated.” Captain Mahajan expressed heartfelt gratitude to Qatar TEC,
emphasizing the importance of fitness for physical and mental well-being and
encouraging young people to adopt sports as a lifelong habit.
The event was also attended by Dr. Amanulla Vadakkangara, CEO of
MediaPlus, as Guest of Honour, who appreciated Qatar TEC’s
initiative in recognising an endurance athlete. He noted that Captain Mahajan
inspires youth and young professionals to pursue sports alongside their
careers. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a memento and
certificate of appreciation to Captain Mahajan, followed by an interactive
session on endurance training, motivation, and overcoming limitations. The
event was successfully coordinated by Jeas Jebi and Saji Kuriakose, with support from Binu Kuriakose (Operations
Manager), Joby K John (Sales & Marketing Manager), Jinoj Mathew Thomas
(Project Account Manager), John Mathew (HR Manager), Thomas Mathew (Finance
Manager), and Laiju Varghese (Admin & Procurement Manager).
