Doha, Qatar: The Embassy of India, in association with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm on January 26, 2026, at the ICC premises in Doha.

The event witnessed the participation of a large number of Indian community members, along with community leaders and representatives of apex bodies, reflecting the spirit of unity and national pride.

The celebration was graced by the Ambassador of India to Qatar, H.E. Mr. Vipul, who unfurled the national flag, followed by the singing of the Indian national anthem. Also present were the Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Sandeep Kumar; Dr. Vaibhav A. Tandale, Counsellor (Head of Chancery & Consular); Mr. Gyanveer Singh, Counsellor (Political & Information); First Secretaries Mr. Eish Singhal and Mr. Harish Pandey; along with other officials from the Embassy of India.

Mr. A.P. Manikantan, President of ICC, welcomed the guests and dignitaries, followed by opening remarks from ICC Vice President Mr. Shantanu Deshpande. A floral tribute was offered to Mahatma Gandhi by H.E. the Ambassador, paying homage to the Father of the Nation and his enduring legacy of truth and non-violence.

On the occasion, H.E. Mr. Vipul was felicitated by the presidents of apex community bodies - Mr. A.P. Manikantan (ICC), Mr. Shanavas Bava (ICBF), Mr. E.P. Abdurahiman (ISC), and Mr. Thaha Muhammed (IBPC).

In his address, the Ambassador conveyed the message of the Hon’ble President of India, highlighting India’s democratic values, constitutional ethos, and progress as a nation.

The celebrations also featured vibrant cultural programmes showcasing India’s rich heritage. Mr. Abraham Joseph, General Secretary of ICC, proposed the vote of thanks, while the event was smoothly and engagingly hosted by Ms. Manju Manoj, bringing the Republic Day celebrations to a memorable close
