Doha, Qatar: Officials from the Qatar Indian Football Forum (QIFF) met with India’s Minister of Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, H.E. Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya, during his visit to Doha for the 2nd World Summit for Social Development. The meeting highlighted QIFF’s growing role in promoting sports and community engagement among Indian expatriates in Qatar.

President Mr. Sharaf Hameed, along with officials Mr. Ashiq Ahmed and Mr. Shanavaz,
presented a brochure introducing QIFF’s journey, vision, and achievements to
Dr. Mandaviya. The Indian Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Vipul, was also present
during the meeting, underscoring the Embassy’s continued support for sports and
cultural initiatives that strengthen the India-Qatar partnership.
Dr.
Mandaviya appreciated QIFF’s efforts in fostering sportsmanship, youth
engagement, and community unity through football. He commended the
organization’s contribution to enhancing India’s image abroad and encouraged
them to continue their mission of promoting healthy competition and teamwork
within the Indian community.
QIFF officials expressed gratitude to Dr.
Mandaviya for his time and for recognizing the forum’s contributions to
community development. They also extended their appreciation to the Indian
Embassy for its consistent encouragement and collaboration in promoting sports
diplomacy.
The QIFF Season 16 tournament is set to begin on November 13, with the official opening ceremony scheduled for November 14 at the Doha Stadium, featuring a series of exciting programs and matches. With the strong backing of the Indian community and support from Qatari authorities, QIFF continues to serve as a powerful platform for unity, talent, and friendship through the spirit of football.
