Doha: A total of 32 schools will compete in the new season of the Mini World Cup, an initiative aimed at promoting basketball among students and building excitement ahead of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027.

The tournament is organised by the Local Organizing Committee of FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 in collaboration with the Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF). The group allocations were announced at a press conference attended by tournament officials, school representatives and media personnel.

The initiative aims to encourage student participation, develop teamwork and promote sportsmanship, respect and intercultural understanding. Interactive activities will also introduce school communities to preparations for hosting the global basketball tournament in Qatar in 2027.
