Kochi: Marking a significant milestone in the Indian aviation industry, Kerala’s first homegrown airline, Air Kerala, is set to inaugurate its corporate office in Aluva, Kochi, tomorrow. The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 5:30 pm, will be officiated by Kerala’s Industries Minister P. Rajeev. Prominent dignitaries including MPs Hibi Eden, Benny Behanan, Harris Beeran, MLAs Anwar Sadath and Roji M John, Aluva Municipal Chairman M.O. John, and Vice Chairperson Saiji Jolly will be in attendance along with top officials from Air Kerala.


Located near the Aluva Metro Station, the newly constructed three-storey corporate office is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and can accommodate up to 200 employees simultaneously. According to company officials, the airline is expected to generate over 750 job opportunities by the end of the year, reinforcing its commitment to boosting employment and contributing to Kerala’s economic growth.


Air Kerala plans to launch its first domestic flight from Kochi in June, with international operations to follow in subsequent phases. The airline’s core mission is to offer affordable airfare, making flying accessible to more people. Discussions are ongoing with Irish firms to lease five aircraft, while plans are also underway to purchase its own fleet. CEO Harish Kutty stated that Air Kerala aims to connect smaller cities in South and Central India with major metro hubs, enhancing regional air connectivity.
