Doha will host the 6th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention from September 21 to 23, the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) announced Monday. The session will be chaired by ACTA President HE Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad.

ACTA spokesperson Abdulwahab Al Kuwari said the conference will strengthen joint Arab cooperation in preventing and combating corruption, while promoting integrity, transparency and the rule of law. The session will build on the outcomes of the previous five sessions, with discussions focusing on capacity-building, asset recovery, exchange of expertise and monitoring the implementation of the Convention.

An accompanying forum will address contemporary issues including the role of codes of conduct in strengthening public-sector integrity, the use of artificial intelligence in corruption prevention, and cooperation between parliamentary councils and anti-corruption bodies. The conference will also consider developing a mechanism to review implementation of the Convention, identify successful practices and challenges, and assess technical assistance needs among member states.

The session is expected to conclude with decisions, recommendations and a final declaration. Proposed initiatives include developing a unified Arab guide on parallel financial investigations, accelerating responses to mutual legal assistance requests, and enhancing transparency of beneficial ownership. Qatar’s hosting of the conference reflects its commitment to strengthening Arab cooperation and sharing expertise in integrity and anti-corruption efforts.
