HE Dr. Hanan Al-Kuwari, former Minister of Public Health of Qatar, has been nominated to succeed Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) when his term concludes on August 15, 2027.
The International Media Office highlighted her goal to unite countries and communities to bolster health systems globally. Dr. Al-Kuwari is one of four candidates vying for the position, alongside Dr. Hanan Balkhy from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Hans Henri P. Kluge from Belgium, and Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin from Indonesia.
