His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that the collaborative mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States have successfully resulted in an agreement for a ceasefire between the conflicting parties in the Gaza Strip.

During a press conference in Doha yesterday, the Prime Minister stated that an agreement has been reached regarding the exchange of prisoners and hostages, aimed at restoring sustainable calm and achieving a permanent ceasefire between the two parties.

He stated that this endeavor complements the provision of substantial humanitarian aid and relief assistance to our Palestinian counterparts in the Gaza Strip. He expressed gratitude to the partners in Egypt and the United States, particularly to the Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and the Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa Affairs at the US National Security Council, Brett McGurk, for their valuable contributions that facilitated the advancement of negotiations and the successful conclusion of this agreement.
