Doha, Qatar: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) organised a condolence meeting in honour of the victims of the Ras Laffan accident and their families. This gathering took place at the Kanjani Hall in the Integrated Indian Community Center in Al Thumama.
Attending the meeting were dignitaries, including the Indian Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Mr. Vipul, along with First Secretary and ICBF coordinating officer Mr. Eish Singhal, community leaders, and company officials. During the meeting, heartfelt condolences were expressed by HE the Ambassador, ICBF President Mr. Shanavas Bava, ICC President A. P. Manikandan, ISC President E. P. Abdul Rahman, IBPC Vice President Abdul Sathar, former ICBF President Neelangshu Day, ICBF Program Committee Chairman K. V. Boban, TRAGS General Manager Mr. Ivan Morgan, and DOPET official Mr. Vaibhav. The meeting was opened by General Secretary Deepak Shetty, who welcomed the attendees, while Secretary Jafar Thayyil proposed vote of thanks.

The event was led by MC members Mini Siby, Mani Bharathi, Irfan Ansari, Amar Singh, Shankar Goud, Khaja Nizamudeen, and Ms. Neelambari S. The gathering also saw participation from Advisory Board Chairman K. S. Prasad, AC member Satheesh V, ICC General Secretary Abraham Joseph, Vice President Santanu Deshpandey, Apex Body MC members Vengappa Bagavathalu, and numerous senior community leaders and representatives from ICBF-associated organizations.

In collaboration with the Embassy of India in Qatar, the ICBF has been diligently working to facilitate the repatriation of the mortal remains of the 12 Indian nationals who tragically lost their lives in the Ras Laffan incident. Following the incident, the Embassy and ICBF swiftly mobilized their teams to coordinate closely with relevant Qatari authorities, healthcare institutions, and company management. They worked tirelessly to complete all necessary legal formalities, documentation, and clearances to ensure the timely repatriation of the deceased. Every effort was made to support the affected families during this profoundly difficult time.
The company management demonstrated a compassionate and supportive approach, fully cooperating to expedite the completion of all official procedures required for repatriation.
ICBF extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and sincerely appreciates the prompt support and assistance provided by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Hamad Hospital authorities, the Embassy of India, and the company management in addressing this tragic situation with urgency, compassion, and care. The Embassy of India and ICBF remain committed to offering all possible assistance to the affected families, ensuring that the repatriation process is conducted with the utmost dignity and respect for the departed souls.
