Two Kottayam natives died of heart attack in Qatar

Doha, Qatar: Two expatriates from the Kottayam district tragically passed away in separate incidents in Qatar. E.P. Shemeer (51), the son of Edathumkunnel A.A. Pareekkutty, one of the pioneering textile shop owners in Kuttikkal town, and Kurian Varkey (51), originally from Vaikom Thottakam in Pantallur, both died of heart attacks.

Shemeer collapsed at his residence yesterday morning. Despite the immediate efforts of friends to transport him to the hospital, he could not be saved. He was employed as a messenger at Al Futayin Vehicle Rentals. Relatives have indicated that arrangements for the repatriation of his body are underway. His children: Misba, Minha, and Masin. Siblings: late E.P. Shanawas, E.P. Shanudheen (Executive Editor of Managalm), and E.P. Shefeeq (Former Chief Sub Editor of Madhyamam).

In a separate incident, Kurian Varkey was discovered deceased in his vehicle, which was parked near his residence in Ain Khaled. Father: Varkey, mother: Kathrikutty, and wife, Sisi Varghese. The formalities have been completed, and his body was transported back to Kochi via Qatar Airways.
