Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Traffic has announced the upcoming release of a new selection of significant vehicle plate numbers via the Sooum app.
The department indicated in a recent social media post that the expression of interest feature for these new numbers will be activated on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 8:00 AM through the designated section of the Sooum app.
Interested bidders are encouraged to submit their expressions of interest for their desired numbers and to pay the required security deposit within 72 hours from the commencement of the expression of interest period.
Following the conclusion of this period, an internal auction lasting 24 hours will take place for those who expressed interest. The department further clarified that if only one individual expresses interest in a particular number, it will be sold at the listed price. Conversely, if multiple individuals express interest, an internal auction will ensue, awarding the number to the highest bidder.
