Doha, Qatar: The Embassy of India in Qatar, in association with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), Indian Sports Centre (ISC), and Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC), organised a condolence meeting in memory of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. The gathering was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at ICC Ashoka Hall, bringing together members of the Indian community to pay their respects to the visionary leader.

H.E. Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, and Dr. Vaibhav Tandale, First Secretary at the Embassy of India, attended the meeting and conveyed their heartfelt condolences. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Vipul recalled the Father Emir's transformative leadership, highlighting his pivotal role in shaping Qatar into a modern, progressive, and globally respected nation. He also noted the enduring legacy of development, stability, and prosperity established under the Father Emir's visionary guidance.
Condolence messages were delivered by ICC President A.P. Manikantan, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, ISC President E. P. Abdulrahman, and IBPC President Thaha Muhammad. The speakers paid tribute to the Father Emir's remarkable vision, statesmanship, and lasting contributions, acknowledging his decisive role in Qatar's extraordinary growth and the strong ties fostered with the Indian community over the years.
The meeting began with a welcome address by ICC General Secretary Abraham K. Joseph, while ICBF General Secretary Deepak Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Managing Committee and Advisory Committee members of ICC, ICBF, ISC, and IBPC, along with a large number of representatives from the Indian diaspora, attended the condolence gathering to honour the life and legacy of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
