India's Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, announced his resignation on Saturday following extensive student protests in Delhi that called for his departure due to exam irregularities, specifically concerning the NEET-UG paper leak.
In a statement shared on X, Pradhan emphasized that his decision was made with the students' future in mind. He expressed his desire to prevent any potential benefits to anti-national elements arising from the unrest at Jantar Mantar and throughout the nation. He highlighted the importance of maintaining national unity and allowing students to focus on their studies and careers without the distraction of legal complications.
This announcement comes shortly after representatives from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by Abhijeet Dipke, convened with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. Following their discussions, the CJP indicated that the government requested additional time to deliberate on Pradhan's resignation.
