Doha: The Ministry of Labour has
launched the first phase of the 'Moawen' Platform for Domestic Worker
Recruitment, a major digital initiative aimed at bringing greater transparency,
efficiency, and oversight to the domestic worker recruitment sector.
Developed in collaboration with Google, the
integrated platform brings together employers, recruitment agencies, and
domestic workers, managing the recruitment process from the initial application
through to the worker taking up employment. The platform offers employers
recruitment options including recruiting a worker they already know, requesting
offers from selected agencies, or browsing all available offers from approved
agencies. A smart rating system provides transparent performance indicators
based on employer experiences.
The platform covers the full journey from
contract signing between employer and agency through to the worker's arrival
and signing of the official employment contract. Future phases will expand
access to domestic workers, enabling them to view their contract details and
terms of employment, alongside a comprehensive knowledge base and AI-powered
chatbot.
Moawen integrates with government systems to verify information and accelerate processing, provides real-time notifications, and supports streamlined electronic salary transfers. The ministry stressed that Moawen is the official and only approved digital platform for domestic worker recruitment services in Qatar, and warned against fraudulent platforms and impersonation attempts.
