Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and
Islamic Affairs has announced that registration for citizens and residents
wishing to perform Hajj in 2027 will open at 12:00 midnight on Sunday,
September 20, and remain open until October 20, 2026 through the official Hajj
portal.
Qatar's Hajj quota for the upcoming season is
4,400 pilgrims. A health fitness certificate, obtainable from health centres
across Qatar with the medical assessment recorded electronically, is a
mandatory first step. For Qatari citizens, applicants must be at least 18 years
old and may add up to three companions. Residents and GCC citizens must be at
least 45 years old, must not have previously performed Hajj, and must have
maintained continuous residence in Qatar for at least 15 years, with one
companion allowed.
The ministry said electronic registration, contracting with licensed Hajj campaigns, and payment procedures have been further developed to facilitate the process. Electronic sorting of applications will begin after registration closes, with acceptance notifications expected to be sent by SMS from the end of October.
