Doha: Hamad Port continues to ensure the steady flow of essential goods into Qatar, handling more than 90,000 tonnes of grain between May and July this year. The volume reflects the strength of Qatar’s food security system and its contribution to market stability through long-term planning and strategic investment.

Hamad Port is a key pillar of Qatar’s logistics network, supporting domestic demand through advanced infrastructure, strong operational capacity and maritime connectivity. It is linked to more than 100 maritime destinations worldwide and has an annual design capacity of 7.5 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), allowing it to accommodate future trade growth.

Captain Abdulaziz Nasser Al Yafei, Executive Vice President of Operations at Mwani Qatar, said the port’s fully integrated 24/7 operating system monitors vessel, container and truck movements while ensuring continuous coordination, preventive maintenance and emergency readiness to keep supply chains moving efficiently.

The port also works closely with the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, General Authority of Customs and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) to streamline cargo procedures. Specialised facilities for storing, processing and packaging food products further strengthen Hamad Port’s role in Qatar’s food-sector infrastructure.

Since becoming operational in 2016, Hamad Port has undergone successive phases of development and expansion. Mwani Qatar continues to invest in infrastructure, operational solutions and partnerships with global shipping lines, reinforcing the port’s position as Qatar’s main gateway for maritime trade and supporting the country’s competitiveness and development goals under Qatar National Vision 2030.
