Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has warned the public against responding to suspicious messages or phone calls that request personal or financial details.
In
a statement shared on Sunday through its official social media platforms, the
Ministry cautioned that fraudsters are impersonating government officials and
well-known companies to obtain sensitive information such as QID copies and
financial data.
Authorities
urged citizens and residents to verify the authenticity of any such
communication by directly contacting the concerned entities through official
phone numbers listed on their websites. The Ministry emphasized that no
personal information should be shared with unknown callers or unverified
sources.
The advisory
comes amid reports of fraudulent calls exploiting the current regional security
situation, with scammers falsely claiming that personal details are required
for evacuation procedures. Officials reiterated the importance of vigilance to
protect personal data and prevent cyber fraud.
