Moi urges public to report unidentified objects at sea immediately

Doha: Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has called on the public, particularly those at sea, to promptly report any unidentified objects or debris spotted in the country’s territorial waters. The advisory emphasizes the importance of immediate communication with authorities to ensure public safety.

The ministry warned against approaching, touching, or attempting to move such objects, noting that they could be remnants of intercepted missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles. These materials may pose serious risks and must only be handled by specialised authorities following strict safety procedures.

MoI further highlighted that such debris could contain hazardous substances, posing potential danger to individuals and the environment. Authorities have urged the public to report any such sightings without delay by contacting the emergency number 999, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain safety and security in Qatar’s waters.
