MoPH recalls GODIVA Chocolate Bar over undeclared egg ingredient

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced the recall of GODIVA Kunafah & Pistachio Milk Chocolate Bar, manufactured in Saudi Arabia, after the discovery of eggs as an undeclared ingredient on the product’s nutritional label.

According to the ministry, the presence of eggs may pose a health risk to consumers with egg allergies or sensitivities, particularly children. The recall follows a notification issued by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), which stated that the manufacturer had voluntarily withdrawn the affected product from retail outlets.

In response, the Food Safety Department of the Ministry of Public Health instructed the supplier in Qatar to immediately remove the recalled chocolate bars from the local market. As an additional precaution, inspection teams were directed to verify that the affected products were no longer available in stores across the country.

The ministry urged consumers who have egg allergies or sensitivities not to consume the product and to dispose of it immediately if purchased. MoPH emphasized that the recall is part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and ensure the highest standards of food safety in Qatar.
