The vote count in Israel’s election has reached 77 percent, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc taking the lead but remaining short of the majority required to form a government. The Central Elections Committee’s latest update shows Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc ahead of the main opposition alliance led by former military chief Gadi Eisenkot.

The latest seat projections based on the votes counted so far are:

·        Netanyahu’s bloc: 54 seats

·        Gadi Eisenkot’s bloc: 49 seats

·        Arab parties: 17 seats

Despite the lead, Netanyahu’s bloc has yet to reach the 61 seats needed for a majority in the 120-member Knesset. Netanyahu has called for a national right-wing government, claiming a decisive majority among the Zionist public. However, the results indicate a potentially difficult path to forming a stable coalition, with the final outcome depending on the remaining votes and post-election negotiations.
