Pakistan says final text of US-Iran peace deal agreed

Islamabad: Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that the final text of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran has been agreed upon, describing it as a major breakthrough in efforts to ease tensions between the two countries. Sharif said Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps toward implementing the agreement.

In a post on X, Sharif stated that "peace has never been as close as it is now" and emphasized Pakistan's role in mediating negotiations between Washington and Tehran over the past several months. He also warned of what he described as misinformation campaigns aimed at undermining the peace process.

The announcement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure a lasting settlement between the two countries. While Pakistan says an agreed text has been reached, officials from both sides are expected to work on finalizing implementation details in the coming days.
