Doha: The Primary
Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is providing physiotherapy services at 15 health
centers across Qatar’s northern, central and western regions, supported by a
specialised team of around 69 physiotherapists.
PHCC
said the service has been distributed according to community needs. Patients
referred from health centers without physiotherapy clinics are directed to
another facility within the same region or offered the earliest available
appointment.
Physiotherapy
clinics operate during morning and evening shifts throughout the week, with
Saturday services available from 7am to 2pm at Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Gharafat Al
Rayyan, Leabaib, Muaither and Rawdat Al Khail health centers. Separate clinics
are provided for male and female patients.
The
service mainly treats musculoskeletal conditions among patients aged 14 and
above, including back and neck pain, joint problems, ligament and tendon
injuries, and rehabilitation following fractures or major surgery. PHCC also
plans to recruit Qatar University physiotherapy graduates and continue
providing practical training for students.
