Doha: Primary Health Care Corporation is
launching its 2026 Patient Safety Campaign from September 17 to 23, 2026, as
part of Qatar Patient Safety Week and in conjunction with World Patient Safety
Day, observed annually on September 17.
This year's observance is held under the
theme "Safe Care for Noncommunicable Diseases" and the global message
"Safe Care for Life," highlighting the importance of providing safe
and continuous care for people living with diabetes, hypertension,
cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and chronic respiratory diseases.
Executive Director of Quality, Patient Safety
and Innovation at PHCC, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Ali, emphasised that patient
safety is a strategic priority for the corporation, noting that enhancing
safety for people with noncommunicable diseases requires genuine partnership
between patients and healthcare providers. Director of Risk Management, Patient
Safety and Patient Engagement Nawal Khattabi said the campaign aims to raise
awareness of prevention, early detection, regular follow-up, and adherence to
treatment plans.
PHCC health centres are hosting awareness activities including educational booths, workshops for healthcare professionals, and digital materials shared through PHCC's social media platforms.
