Qatar Charity launches Indian Community Charity Fund to support underprivileged families in Qatar

Doha: The Charity Dinner organised by Qatar Charity for the Indian community, in collaboration with the Centre for Indian Community, was held successfully. The event was organised to promote the Indian Community Charity Fund (Sunduq Al Jaliya), which operates under Qatar Charity to address various welfare needs of the Indian community. The Centre for Indian Community (CIC) Qatar serves as the community partner for this project.


Abdullah Abdul Hadi Al Dosari, Director of the Social Welfare Department at Qatar Charity, presided over the event. He expressed gratitude for the Indian community's support to Qatar Charity's initiatives and called for everyone's cooperation to ensure the success of the Indian Community Charity Fund.


Indian Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Sandeep Kumar was the Chief Guest. He praised Qatar Charity's various service activities and extended his best wishes for the new Indian Community Charity Fund project. He also noted that the support of CIC Qatar, as the community partner, has been exemplary.

CIC Qatar President R.S. Abdul Jaleel delivered the introductory speech. He highlighted the support the Indian community has consistently provided to Qatar Charity since its inception and called for continued support for the Indian Community Charity Fund project, which aims to bring relief to underprivileged individuals within the Indian community. P.P. Abdu Rahim, representative of the Indian Community Charity Fund (Sunduq Al Jaliya), provided an explanation of the project.

Speakers included ICC President A.P. Manikantan, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, IBPC President Taha Mohammed, Dr. Mahmoud Al Mahmoud (PHCC), Shantiniketan Indian School Principal Rafeeq Raheem, Loyola International School Principal Bhavana Vijayakumar, DPS Modern Indian School Principal Asna Nafees, Bhavans Public School Principal Shanti C.V., MES Indian School Vice Principal Muhammad Ilyas, and Narayanan O.T.C.

The event was attended by various socio-cultural leaders from Qatar, Indian Embassy representatives, business leaders, principals of educational institutions, and representatives of various community organisations. Dr. Taj Aluva hosted the event, and Abdu Rahim Abdullah performed the Quran recitation.
