Doha,
Qatar: The Qatar Indian Association (QIA) has officially confirmed its
leadership team for the 2026-27 term following its annual general body meeting
held on March 28 at the Athlen Club House. The meeting brought together members
of the association to review organisational matters and approve the formation
of a new executive committee to guide QIA’s activities in the upcoming term.

As
part of the process, the nomination committee presented a list of 17 members,
which was approved by the general body. Following the ratification, the newly
formed executive committee convened and elected Ashif Hameed as President,
Renjith Raju as General Secretary and Mohammed Helmi as Treasurer. Hyder
Chungathara and Abdul Raheem will serve as Vice Presidents, while Marzookh KV
and Ahmed Hashim have been appointed as Secretaries.
The executive
committee also includes EP Abdulrahman, Safeerurahman, Nihad Ali, Hamsa Yousaf,
Abdul Azeem, Aslam TC, Abdulrahman (Arman), Rafeeque Cherukari, Shareef KT,
Jayaraj KR, Abdul Azeez and Hamsa Saphar. With the new leadership team in
place, the association is expected to focus on strengthening its role in
promoting sporting activities and community engagement among the Indian
expatriate community in Qatar.
