Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour has urged the public to remain vigilant and help combat human trafficking by recognising early warning signs of exploitation. In a recent update, the Ministry stressed that identifying such indicators is crucial in preventing these serious crimes and protecting vulnerable individuals from abuse and unlawful practices.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding human dignity and called on citizens and residents to report any suspected cases through the dedicated hotline 16044. Authorities highlighted that public awareness and timely reporting play a vital role in supporting victims and strengthening enforcement efforts against trafficking offences.

Key Points to Understand & Act:

·        Confiscation or withholding of passports or personal documents

·        Forced labour or coercion in any form

·        Restrictions on communication or movement

·        Threats, intimidation, or fear-based control

·        Inhumane working or living conditions

Reportable Situations:

·        Exploitation in workplaces

·        Fraudulent job recruitment offers

·        Denial of basic rights or freedom

·        Any form of abuse affecting worker dignity
