Doha: Qatar’s Ministry of Labour has said that the new amendments to Labour Law No. (9) of 2026 mark a major step in developing the country’s labour legislation and strengthening the stability of the labour market.
The
ministry said the reforms, issued by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al
Thani, aim to support Qatar National Vision 2030 by creating a more attractive
business environment and balancing the interests of employers and workers.
The
amendments include new provisions for part-time work and freelance employment,
stronger regulation of recruitment offices, clearer rules on non-compete
clauses, and faster mechanisms for settling labour disputes through mediation
and digital platforms.
