Museums has been honoured with six prestigious awards at the International
Sustainability Awards 2026, organised by Awards International, reflecting its
commitment to environmental stewardship, social impact, and operational
excellence across its institutions and initiatives.
The
awards were presented during an online ceremony on June 11, bringing together
leading organisations from around the world. Following a rigorous two-stage
evaluation process, QM received: Gold for Best Sustainability Team of the Year
and Best Social Impact; Silver for Sustainability Professional of the Year
(Engineer Fahad Al Mana), Best Green Building (National Museum of Qatar), and
Best Green Building (Fire Station); and Bronze for Best Green Building (Museum
of Islamic Art).
Engineer
Fahad Al Mana, Director of Project Management Office and Facilities Management
Department, said: "This recognition belongs to every individual who has
made sustainability a lived value, not just a policy commitment. As custodians
of Qatar's cultural heritage and creative future, we hold a profound
responsibility to our communities, to the environment, and to the generations
who will inherit what we build today."
The awards underscore QM's contribution to advancing Qatar's national sustainability objectives in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, cementing its position as a leading cultural institution committed to responsible growth and innovation.
