Reyada Medical Center, IDC Qatar launch ‘HRUDYA’ initiative to promote heart health

Doha: The Indian Doctors Club (IDC), a professional body of Indian doctors in Qatar, in collaboration with Reyada Medical Center, a JCI-accredited multi-specialty healthcare institution, has launched ‘HRUDYA’, a new health protection initiative aimed at promoting heart health awareness and encouraging the early detection and prevention of heart diseases.

The initiative seeks to educate the public on safeguarding heart health through simple lifestyle modifications, preventive healthcare practices, and regular medical check-ups. As part of the campaign, free heart disease screening camps and public awareness sessions will be conducted across Qatar.

The project was officially inaugurated by IDC Qatar Advisory Council Chairman Dr. Saibu Georgepa, Reyada Medical Center Managing Director Jamsheer Hamza, Executive Director Dr. Abdul Kalam, and IDC President Dr. Rini Showkath, along with other IDC office bearers.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Rini Showkath highlighted the growing importance of preventive healthcare and regular cardiac screening among the expatriate community. He noted that the initiative has been conceptualized and implemented under the leadership of IDC Social Welfare Secretary Dr. Shafeeque.

Coinciding with the launch, the first ‘HRUDYA’ Medical Camp was organized for members of MCC, a group of young sports enthusiasts. The camp was led by Dr. Bishnu Kiran, Cardiology Specialist at Riyadh Medical Center, with active participation from volunteer doctors of IDC.

“Riyadh Medical Center places greater emphasis on prevention than treatment. We are delighted to bring heart health screening services closer to the community through the ‘HRUDYA’ initiative in partnership with IDC,” said Jamsheer Hamza, Managing Director of Reyada Medical Center.

The event was also attended by Reyada Medical Center Executive Director Dr. Abdul Kalam, Campaign Convener Dr. Anwar, members of the IDC Managing Committee, and MCC representatives.

Organizers announced that similar awareness programs, heart health camps, and community outreach initiatives will be conducted in different parts of Qatar in the coming months, reinforcing the campaign’s mission of building a healthier and more heart-conscious community.
