Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s Al Wasmi season, traditionally associated with the onset of rainfall, is set to begin on October 16, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced. The 52-day season is typically marked by rain, winds and occasional storms.
The season gets its name from the rainfall that supports the growth of certain local plants, including geranium. During this period, clouds generally move from west to east, with the season often bringing beneficial rainfall to the country.
According to climate records, temperatures in Doha are expected to gradually decline, with maximum temperatures falling below 35°C and minimum temperatures reaching around 20°C. The weather is expected to remain mild during the day and relatively cool at night, accompanied by northwesterly winds.
