Doha:
Qatar Foundation’s Lawh
Wa Qalam: M. F. Husain Museum has been named among TIME World’s Greatest Places 2026,
earning global recognition as one of the world’s top cultural destinations. The
accolade comes less than a year after the museum opened in Education City in
November 2025.
Dedicated
to celebrated Indian artist Maqbool Fida Husain,
the museum is the first and largest institution in the world devoted to his
life and work. It showcases more than 150 artworks and objects, including
paintings, sculptures, films, photography, poetry, and personal collections
that highlight Husain’s artistic journey and creative vision.
TIME praised the museum for going beyond traditional exhibitions by connecting Husain’s legacy with South Asia, the Arab world, and the wider Global South. Spanning over 3,000 square metres, the museum serves as a vibrant space where art, culture, learning, and cross-cultural dialogue come together, further enriching Qatar’s growing cultural landscape.
