Riyadh: King Khalid International Airport in
Riyadh is preparing to resume domestic and international flight operations on
Sunday, October 25, following disruptions caused by recent Houthi missile and
drone attacks targeting the Saudi capital.
In a travel advisory issued Saturday, the
airport announced new terminal arrangements for flights operated by Saudi
national carriers, effective Sunday. Under the arrangements, Terminal 1 will be
designated for domestic flights, while Terminal 2 will handle international
flights operated by national carriers.
The announcement signals a move toward
restoring passenger operations at one of the Kingdom's busiest aviation hubs
following the security disruptions. Airport authorities urged passengers with
confirmed reservations to contact their airlines to verify their booking status
and flight schedules before travelling to the airport.
The operational update follows a series of attacks by the Houthi militia targeting Riyadh and other parts of Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid International Airport. Saudi authorities have repeatedly announced the interception and destruction of Houthi projectiles targeting Riyadh and other regions, while Civil Defence teams responded to incidents involving falling interception debris.
