The
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 board exam
results for 2026 on Wednesday, recording an overall pass percentage of 93.70%. This
figure represents a slight increase of 0.04 percentage points compared to the
previous year.
Region-wise
data highlights a strong performance from southern India, with Trivandrum and Vijayawada
jointly securing the top spot with a pass percentage of 99.79%. They were
followed by Chennai at 99.58% and Bengaluru at 98.91%. In contrast, the
Guwahati region recorded the lowest pass rate at 85.32%.
Consistent with recent trends, girls outperformed boys, achieving a pass rate of 94.99% compared to 92.69% for boys. A total of 2.22 lakh students scored above 90%, with 55,368 candidates crossing the 95% mark. The results were released earlier than usual due to the implementation of digital evaluation systems and streamlined examination management.
