Washington: US President Donald Trump has
responded after Iran targeted a major LNG facility in Qatar, in a fresh
escalation of tensions in the region.
Trump said there would be no further Israeli
strikes unless Iran carries out more attacks. He indicated that any additional
action would depend on how the situation develops, especially if Iran targets
countries in the Gulf again.
The development follows a series of attacks on
energy infrastructure, with Iran and Israel exchanging strikes in recent days.
The incident involving Qatar’s LNG facility has raised concerns about the
safety of key energy sites in the region.
The attack has also increased fears of disruption
to global gas supplies, as Qatar is one of the world’s leading exporters of
liquefied natural gas.
Officials are closely watching the situation, as
tensions remain high and efforts continue to prevent further escalation.
