Doha: Visit Qatar has unveiled its
2026-2027 Qatar Calendar, presenting an extensive programme of over 560
sporting, cultural, entertainment, and family events designed to offer
residents and visitors a diverse range of experiences under one unified national
platform.
The launch event brought together
representatives from the tourism, entertainment, sports, and events sectors,
including Chairman of Qatar Tourism HE Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji, Managing
Director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy HE Hassan Al-Thawadi,
Visit Qatar CEO Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, and US entertainer Steve Harvey.
Al-Kharji described the launch as an
important milestone, stating: "Qatar Calendar serves as a unified national
platform, bringing together cultural, entertainment, and sporting events
delivered by entities across the country. The platform plays a strategic role
in amplifying and promoting events, expanding their reach among residents and
visitors."
The programme featured a high-level panel discussion titled "The Role of Sport in Enhancing the Country's Image as a Dynamic Destination," followed by the launch of Visit Qatar's new winter campaign, "A World of Events in Qatar." A major highlight was the signing of agreements between Visit Qatar and key partners including Qatar Rail. Qatar Rail CEO Jassim Mohammed Al-Ansari said the MoU reflects the company's commitment to strengthening public transport's role in supporting the tourism and events sector.
