Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has successfully conducted its 4th training workshop focused on occupational health, targeting practicing physicians and specialists from various medical disciplines. The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of primary healthcare providers in managing work-related diseases, preventing occupational injuries, and improving overall workplace health services.
The
session brought together around 40 physicians from institutions such as the Primary Health Care Corporation
(PHCC), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Workers’ Health
Centers, and various government and corporate entities. Experts from MoPH, Hamad Medical Corporation
(HMC), and QatarEnergy led the training, offering insights into
occupational medicine, injury prevention, and risk mitigation in the workplace.
Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Hajjaj, Head of the Occupational Health Section at MoPH, emphasized the ongoing need to address occupational hazards and announced that an advanced training program in occupational and environmental health will soon be launched. This follows a series of workshops held between 2022 and 2024, which have already trained over 110 physicians, reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to safer and healthier work environments.
