New leadership takes charge at Thrissur Jilla Souhrudavedi (TJSV)

Doha, Qatar: The 12th Governing Committee of Thrissur Jilla Souhrudavedhi (TJSV) for the 2025–2027 term has been officially formed, with Mr. Vishnu Jayaram Dev as President, Mr. Sharaf Muhammad as General Secretary, and Mr. Thomas K O as Treasurer. The new leadership assumed office in a grand swearing-in ceremony held at ICC Ashoka Hall on Saturday, June 21, 2025.


Under the leadership of Mr. Vishnu Jayaram Dev, a 10-member Central Committee, 15 Sector Committees, 14 Sub-Committees, an Advisory Committee, four Coordinators, and nearly 500 Councillors took the oath of office. This marked the successful conclusion of the forum's democratic electoral process, held biennially to ensure smooth transitions and uphold its core values of participatory governance.


The event began with the General Assembly chaired by former President Mr. Abdul Ghafoor. Former Secretary Mr. Abdul Razak delivered the welcome address, while outgoing General Secretary Mr. Vishnu Jayaram Dev presented the report of past activities. Former Financial Controller Mr. Jayanandan outlined the financial report. Distinguished members present on stage included General Coordinator Mr. Muhammad Mustafa, Family Security Scheme Chairman Mr. Pramod, Karunya Scheme Chairman Mr. Srinivasan, and Secretary Mr. Abdul Razak.


The election officers - Mr. Abdul Jabbar, Mr. Jibish, and Mr. Umar Kutty - announced the names of the newly elected Sector and Central Committee members. Subsequently, Mr. Vishnu Jayaram Dev unveiled the 14 Sub-Committees and the Advisory Committee, appointed under his presidential authority.


The oath of office was administered by Advisory Committee Chairman Mr. V. S. Narayanan, with all new office bearers taking the pledge of service and commitment.


Several dignitaries, including ICC President Mr. A.P. Manikandan, TAC Qatar Director Mr. Unnikrishnan Kalarikkal, NRI Society Coordinator Mr. V. K. Saleem, TJSV Founding President Mr. Hyderali Karuthakka, former Women’s Wing Chairperson Ms. Rajeena Salim, and Legal Advisor Mr. Jafar Khan, extended their congratulations to the new committee.


The event began with a graceful welcome dance by students trained by TAC Qatar’s classical teacher Smt. Wincy Fernandes. The proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Secretary Mr. Pramod, followed by a friendly fellowship dinner.
