Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has called on high-risk groups to receive the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine, currently available at Hamad Medical Corporation hospitals and Primary Health Care Corporation centres across Qatar.
MoPH
said the vaccine, approved by international health organisations, is highly
effective in preventing RSV and reducing severe complications, with a strong
safety record and minimal side effects. It has been included as a recommended
vaccine in Qatar’s national immunisation programme.
The
Ministry advised pregnant women between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, adults
aged 60 and above, people aged 18 to 59 with chronic illnesses, and individuals
with weakened immune systems to get vaccinated.
MoPH stressed that timely vaccination is a key preventive measure and urged eligible residents to visit authorised health facilities to protect themselves and their families.
