Palestine produced another dramatic late comeback to secure a crucial 2–2 draw against Tunisia in their FIFA Arab Cup clash at Lusail Stadium on Thursday. The result pushes Palestine one point clear at the top of Group A, strengthening their chances of reaching the knockout stage.
Tunisia
looked in control early on, taking the lead in the 16th minute when Amor
Layouni guided in an Ismael Gharbi corner. They doubled the advantage early in
the second half through Firas Chaouat, who finished a Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane
setup after a strong run past Michael Termanini.
But Palestine
responded with resilience once again. Hamed Hamdan pulled one back with a
powerful volley just after the hour mark, and Zaid Qunbar sealed the comeback
in the dying moments, firing through two Tunisian defenders to spark wild
celebrations on the Palestine bench.
