Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar has expressed hope that the launch of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza will contribute to stabilising the situation and alleviating the worsening humanitarian conditions in the territory.
Speaking
to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Adviser to the
Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed
the announcement by US Middle East envoy HE Steve Witkoff regarding the start
of the next phase of the agreement.
He
said Qatar, in its role as a mediator and in coordination with its partners,
will continue diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and the protection of
civilians, while reiterating its steadfast support for the legitimate rights of
the Palestinian people.
Dr Al Ansari also stressed the need for full implementation of the ceasefire, including the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and the immediate commencement of reconstruction, urging the international community to support efforts toward lasting peace and stability.
