R Chandramohan re-elected Pravasi Welfare State President for 2026–27 Term

Doha, Qatar: R Chandramohan has been re-elected as the Pravasi Welfare State President for the 2026–2027 term, securing the post for a second consecutive term. A native of Chavara in Kollam district, Chandramohan has earlier served the organisation as State Secretary and Vice President, playing a key role in strengthening its activities in Qatar.

Along with the president, Sharafudheen C, Thaseen Ameen, and Najla Najeeb were elected as General Secretaries. Sharafudheen C hails from Vadakangara in Malappuram district, Thaseen Ameen is a native of Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram district, while Najla Najeeb is from Madayi in Kannur district.

The newly elected Vice Presidents are Abdul Gafoor A.R. (Kozhikode), Ahmed Shafi (Kozhikode), Anees Mala (Thrissur), and Latha Krishna (Wayanad). Those elected as Secretaries include Rahim Vengeri (Kozhikode), Sanjay Cherian (Alappuzha), Maqbool Ahmed (Kozhikode), Sajna Saki (Malappuram), Nihas Eriyad (Thrissur), Rabi' Zaman (Kozhikode), and Shuaib Abdurahman (Kannur).

In addition, Rasheed Ahmed (Kottayam), Muneesh A.C. (Malappuram), Sadiq Chennadan (Kozhikode), Majeedali (Thrissur), Shafi Moozhikkal (Kozhikode), Muhammed Rafi (Kozhikode), Radhakrishnan (Palakkad), Abida Abdullah (Thrissur), Sakina Abdullah (Kozhikode), Sana Naseem (Thrissur), Aseem M.T. (Thiruvananthapuram), Fatima Tasneem (Kasaragod), Kajan Johnson (Thrissur), Raziq N (Kozhikode), Shameer V.K. (Malappuram), and Shamsuddin Vayeri (Kozhikode) were elected as State Committee Members for the new term.

The new committee was elected at the State General Council, comprising representatives elected from various districts, with the election process led by Welfare Party State Vice President K.A. Shafiq. Pravasi Welfare, which has been actively engaged in social and cultural service sectors in Qatar for the past decade, is affiliated with the Indian Cultural Center under the Indian Embassy and is recognised by NORKA Roots under the Government of Kerala.
