Doha, Qatar: HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani crowned the winners of the 17th Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival, Marmi 2026, during a ceremony at Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine. The event concluded the field competitions and the final round of the Haded Al-Tahaddi Championship, where 27 participants competed for top honors. Grand prize winners Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi of the UAE and Nasser Saeed Al Marri of Qatar each received a Lexus vehicle.
The
festival also celebrated winners across the Tal’a, Local Da’w, International
Da’w, Elite Da’w, and Promising Falconer championships, with prizes ranging
from QAR 25,000 to QAR 300,000. Sheikh Joaan recognized participants’
achievements in multiple categories, including Free Farakh, Qarnass Jir, Farakh
Jir Shaheen, and Arabian Saluki racing, highlighting exceptional performances
and falconry skills.
Festival organizers and participants praised the event’s organization and cultural significance. Chairman Muteb bin Mubarak Al Qahtani and officials emphasized Sheikh Joaan’s continued support in preserving falconry heritage. The festival will conclude with the Mazayin Championship at Katara Cultural Village, showcasing the aesthetics and physical qualities of falcons and attracting participants from across Qatar and the region.
