Doha, Qatar: The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative by the Qatar Foundation, kicked off its 12th edition yesterday at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Under the theme "Humanity.io: Human Values at the Heart of Education," the summit's opening day gathered education leaders, policymakers, innovators, and youth from over 100 countries. The focus was on maintaining human-centered learning ecosystems amidst rapid technological changes.
The event commenced with a high-level plenary session that explored the impact of artificial intelligence on education. Speakers highlighted that despite the swift pace of technological advancement, the future of innovation will be shaped by human identity, creativity, emotional intelligence, and ethics.
The Humanity.io theme underscored the day's discussions, emphasizing the synergy between human insight and technology. The dialogue continued with the Ministerial Roundtable "Bridging the Divide: Financing Inclusive and Future-Ready Education." This session, led by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar Fund for Development, brought together senior government officials and global education leaders to discuss national education priorities and cross-sector collaboration.
