Doha, Qatar: The QFM Radio Network and Radio Malayalam 98.6 FM marked a significant milestone with the grand inauguration of their newly renovated Offices and Studio Complex on 20 November 2025. The ceremony drew an eminent gathering of diplomats, government officials, corporate leaders, and community representatives, highlighting the network’s growing influence in Qatar’s expatriate media landscape.

The
event was graced by H.E. Shri. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, H.E. Ms.
Sithara Azard, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar, H.E. Ghanim Saad M Al Saad Al
Kuwari, Chairman of QFM Radio Network, Mr. Saud Saad Al Kuwari, Vice Chairman,
Mr. K.C. Abdul Latheef, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Jabir
Muhammed Alian from the Ministry of Culture, and Ms. Noora Jaber Al Meraizeeq
from the Communications Regulatory Authority. Together, the dignitaries
inaugurated the main office, Al Hibr Office, the new Studio Complex, and the
individual studios—Sithula Studio, Bangla Studio, Nepal Studio, and Malayalam
Studio—followed by a tour and cake-cutting ceremony.
In his welcome address, Mr. K.C. Abdul Latheef
described the inauguration as a defining moment, recalling QFM’s journey from a
single-language station in 2017 to a five-channel network broadcasting in
Malayalam, Tamil, Sinhala, Nepali, and Bangla. He expressed gratitude to
Qatar’s leadership, especially H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,
and reflected on the challenges of the COVID-19 period, noting that Malayalam
Radio quickly emerged as Qatar’s No. 1 private station.
H.E. Ghanim Saad M Al Saad Al Kuwari released the
Ipsos Video Report and highlighted QFM’s consistent top ranking in audience
measurements. He praised the contributions of ministries, embassies, partners,
staff, and loyal listeners, emphasizing the network’s vision for stronger
digital engagement and enhanced service quality in the coming years.
The Indian Ambassador unveiled the new logo of QFM
98.6 Malayalam and underscored the network’s role as a vital communication link
for expatriates. He highlighted opportunities for India–Qatar cultural
collaboration, commended QFM’s multilingual expansion, and recognized the
commendable community service contributions of Keralites in Qatar.
Mementos were presented by the Chairman to the
Indian Ambassador, the Sri Lankan Ambassador, Mr. Jabir Muhammed Alian, and Ms.
Noora Jaber Al Meraizeeq, in appreciation of their support. Mr. Anvar Hussain,
CEO of QFM Radio Network, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging all
dignitaries, community leaders, partners, and well-wishers for their continued
encouragement.
A special
evening visit for community leaders brought together prominent figures
including A.P. Manikandan, Shanavas Bava, Thaha Abdul Kareem, P.N. Baburaj,
S.A.M. Basheer, Shaheen Shafi, Shihab, Raheem, K.T. Mubarak, Arshad E, Raheem
Omassery, Mi Thoufeeq Aslam, Duleep, Tenison De Silva, Muniyappa, Manibharathi,
Rooban, V.T. Faisal, Mashood V.C., Chandramohan Pillai, K.R. Jayaraj, Rasheed
Ahmed, Abdul Raoof Kondotty, Adv. Zakariya, and Adil O.P. The leaders praised
QFM’s remarkable service to Qatar’s multicultural expatriate community and
extended their best wishes for the network’s continued growth and future
achievements.
