Doha: The book
authored by senior journalist and founding President of the Indian Media Forum
(IMF), Ahamed Pathirippatta, was released at a function organized by the Indian
Media Forum at the ICC Mumbai Hall in Doha.
The book was launched
by Bindu N. Nair, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India in Qatar. The first
copy was received by Joseph John, Program Editor of Al Jazeera English, who
also introduced the book to the audience.
The event was
presided over by Omanakoottan Parumala, President of the Indian Media Forum
Qatar. Greetings were delivered by A. P. Manikandan, President of the Indian
Cultural Centre (ICC), and Dr. K. C. Sabu, President of the Indian Authors
Forum. ISC President E. P. Abdurahiman and ICBF President Shanavas Bava also
attended the release ceremony. Ahamed Pathirippatta delivered the reply speech,
reflecting on the experiences and memories that inspired the publication.
During the ceremony,
IMF awards were presented to Bindu N. Nair and Joseph John by A. P. Manikandan
in recognition of their contributions. Copies of the book were also handed over
to the libraries of the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) and the Indian Community
Benevolent Forum (ICBF).
IMF General Secretary Shafeeq Arakkal welcomed the gathering, Treasurer RJ Ratheesh proposed the vote of thanks, and IMF Executive Member RJ Nisa hosted the event. A large number of media professionals, writers, and cultural personalities attended the function.
