Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first-ever foldable iPhone, marking the company’s entry into the fast-growing foldable smartphone market. The device opens to a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display and features a 5.4-inch outer screen when folded.

Powered
by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, the Duo is designed for multitasking, gaming and
content consumption, with a redesigned iOS 27 experience and Apple Intelligence
features. Apple has also introduced a precision hinge, nano-texture inner
display and support for Apple Pencil.
The
iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, making it Apple’s most expensive iPhone.
Pre-orders begin October 16, with sales starting October 23. Apple’s move is
expected to intensify competition with Samsung, Google and Chinese smartphone
makers in the premium foldable segment.
