As of Saturday, the death toll from the devastating flash floods in Nepal has reached 616, with rescue operations ongoing for nearly 2,000 missing individuals.
Nepal Police have confirmed that over 4,500 people have been rescued so far. Among the missing are 183 Indian tourists, of whom 85 have been found, while 98 remain unaccounted for, according to the Nepal Tourism Board. Indians represent the largest group of missing foreign nationals.
The disaster has affected individuals from more than 30 countries, including 65 from the United States, 61 from Ukraine, 51 from Malaysia, 35 from Australia, and 33 from the United Kingdom. Despite the lack of recorded rainfall, scientists are investigating how such intense flooding occurred in the Bhotekoshi river in Nepal's Rasuwa district.
