India secured a six-wicket win over Pakistan as Virat Kohli played a composed unbeaten century, guiding his team to the brink of a Champions Trophy semi-final berth. Kohli’s masterful 111-ball innings, which marked his 51st ODI hundred, was pivotal in setting the stage for a commanding victory at the Dubai International Stadium.
Batting first, Pakistan managed a modest total of 241 runs after winning the toss. Despite notable contributions from Saud Shakeel (62) and Muhammad Rizwan (46), the innings lacked the power and consistency needed to challenge India, falling short of the ground’s average first-innings score.
In response, India’s bowlers, led by spinner Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya, effectively restricted the opposition. With Shreyas Iyer contributing an enterprising 56, Kohli’s brilliant century ensured that India chased down the target with 45 balls to spare, solidifying their position at the top of Group A and keeping their semi-final hopes alive.
