Doha: The Center for Indian Community (CIC) organized a remarkable Iftar gathering at Barwa Village, bringing together prominent figures from the Malayali diaspora in Qatar. The event carried a strong message of unity and brotherhood, emphasizing the importance of communal harmony during the holy month of Ramadan. Attendees from various cultural, social, and business sectors participated, making it a significant occasion for fostering connections within the community.
In
his keynote address, CIC President TK Kasim highlighted the deeper purpose of
such gatherings, stating that they serve to unite hearts and promote love and
harmony in society. He expressed concern over the rising issues of substance
abuse, immorality, and careless living, stressing that the teachings of
fasting, as imparted by the Prophet, can guide individuals toward a life of
discipline, purity, and strong moral values. He urged the community to uphold
these principles to strengthen the social fabric.
The
event saw the participation of key community leaders, including ICC President
A.P. Manikandan, ICBF President Shanavas Bava, IBPC President Thaha Mohammed,
ICC Advisory Board Chairman P.N. Baburajan, and ICC General Secretary Abraham
Joseph. Also in attendance were Haider Chungathara (Incas), Dr. Abdu Samad (KMCC),
and Sharaf P. Hameed (QIFF), along with representatives from various organizations in Qatar, including Sanskriti
Qatar, Pravasi Welfare, KCC, QICC, Focus Qatar, Youth Forum, QKIC, Indian
Doctors Club, UNIQ Qatar, KBF, and Qatar Indian Media Forum. Their presence
highlighted the spirit of collaboration among different community groups.
The gathering served as a platform to reinforce the values of Ramadan and encourage meaningful interactions among attendees. With prominent figures from cultural, media, and business sectors coming together, the event successfully highlighted the essence of unity and mutual respect, reflecting the vibrant and inclusive nature of the Indian community in Qatar.
