Lisbon: Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez after nearly a decade together. The couple tied the knot on Tuesday in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, a coastal resort near Lisbon, ending days of intense speculation in the Portuguese media over when and where the wedding would take place.
Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage on social media by sharing a photograph showing the couple's hands wearing their wedding bands, accompanied by the simple caption “C ❤️ G”. The ceremony was described by Ronaldo's representatives as private and intimate, with the couple's five children attending the occasion. The wedding came exactly one year after Rodriguez announced their engagement on Instagram in August 2025.
The marriage marks another milestone in a relationship that began in 2016. Rodriguez, 32, has since become a prominent social media personality and model, while also gaining international recognition through the Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, which follows her family life, fashion activities and travels. In the days before the ceremony, Portuguese media had speculated that the wedding could be held in Sintra or Ronaldo's native Madeira, with rumours even drawing crowds to Funchal Cathedral.
Ronaldo remains one of the most decorated footballers of his generation, having won the Ballon d'Or five times during a career that has included spells with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus. The Portugal captain represented his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer and currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
